I watch as she comes closer, her paws moving silently on the laminate. Her tail twitches. Her shoulders beat up and down. She raises her head and our eyes lock. Gracefully, her hind legs push her into the air and she lands gently on my lap. She moves up my chest until her head is by my ear. I feel the vibration of her purr. She rubs against me and I sense her thoughts. “I love you.” I rub the back of her head and I answer. “I love you, too.”
